2010 MATCHBOOK CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Purchase online >

Matchbook Cabernet has layered aromas of violets and cloves with dense blackberry, Bing cherry and cranberry. Bright cherry and chocolate, clove, mint and firm tannins are prominent on the entry. The lingering finish is a rich blend of cherry truffles, cedar and spice. This full-bodied red wine has loads of chewy chocolaty tannins, but with very elegant aromas of violets – a wonderfully impressive combination. Pair this wine with red meat like a pepper crusted seared rib eye.

GROWING SEASON

2010 was an ideal year for growing grapes in Lake County. No extreme frost or rain events and mild summer temperatures allowed us to ripen our grapes slowly, which promoted maximum flavor, concentration and intensity.

WINEMAKING NOTES

Lake County is California’s hidden treasure for growing cabernet sauvignon grapes. We carefully blended in cabernets from Alexander Valley and Chalk Hill to amplify the structure, and a little merlot to soften the tannins.
